Born and raised in the Bronx, award winning novelist Steven Schindler's career spans several decades as a TV writer/producer and has taken him from N.Y.C. to Washington, D.C. to Chicago to Los Angeles and currently to rural San Diego County.
Writing awards for his novels include: FALLOUT SHELTER- Best Fiction, New Adult, NYC Big Book Award. THE LAST SEWER BALL, Grand Prize Winner (All categories), New York Book Festival. FROM THE BLOCK, Best Fiction, Hollywood Indie Book Festival. Also, First Place in the Mose Allison Short Story contest. And Journalist of the Year, by the Chicago Nurses Association.
TV credits include a special on The Who, CNN, Israel and the Palestinians: Will Reason Prevail?, America's Most Wanted, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 4 Chicago Emmy Awards, including an Emmy Award for a television special he created, wrote and produced- Rock 'N Roll Legacy. He also created and produced a variety/comedy special for Rich Koz aka Svengoolie.
Schindler's novels have received praise from the New York Post, Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, Small Press Review, The Riverdale Press, Jay Leno, Regis Philbin, Roger L. Simon (The Big Fix) and Will Manus (Mott the Hoople).
When not writing Steve can be found playing ice hockey, running, or riding a dirt bike through the rocky trails of the SoCal high desert or the hills of N. San Diego County. And tending to his avocado grove.
